Atlantic Burn Camp Jail N Bail, 2012
On July 27, 2012 the Fourth Annual Atlantic Burn Camp Jail N Bail fundraiser was held in Sydney, NS.
This year, the Cape Breton Partnership had summer student, Erin MacK. "arrested" for charity. Erin's job was to be taken into custody, to be held in "jail" on the patio at the Holiday Inn Sydney - Waterfront and required to raise "bail money" in order to be released.
A Sheriff from the Cape Breton Regional Police "arrested" Erin and "charged" her with the offense of Laughing too much at work.
She was a great sport and raised $525 for the Atlantic Burn Camp in just a few short hours!
Michelle M. of the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce also participated. She posted $1200 "bail" and was released.
Through the generosity of local residents and businesses, the 2012 Atlantic Burn Camp Jail N Bail Fundraiser was an unprecedented success, raising approximately $21,000 for the cause.
